Dan started his career at a small firm in Calgary in 2006. The first several years of practice were dedicated exclusively to personal and corporate taxation for owner managed business. After gaining a strong foundation, Dan moved to KPMG as a senior accountant in private company audit. During his time at KPMG, Dan had the opportunity to work with a host of private companies, not-for-profits/charities, and municipalities to help them with their financial reporting and tax matters. After KPMG, Dan focused on cross-border taxation working with small businesses and individual with cross border complexities.

Dan started 1917 CPA with Will to exclusively focus on helping Canadian owner managed businesses with their financial reporting, tax planning, and tax compliance. Dan is known for being casual and approachable. He believes in providing a high level of service for reasonable fees.

When Dan is not at the office you can find him spending time with his family, and his two Great Danes. Dan also serves as Chair of the board for Elements Calgary Mental Health Centre http://www.elementscmhc.ca/
